The major new changes introduced in this release are:
Minimum version of Solaris on SPARC [Effective with 10.1.1-H8 and later] Solaris on SPARC is supported on Solaris 10 U11 and later. Earlier versions of Solaris are no longer supported. See Supported Systems for details.
Remove Support for Solaris 32-bit on X86 [Effective with 10.1.1-H8 and later] Solaris on 32-bit X86 is no longer supported. Only Solaris 64-bit is supported. See Supported Systems for details.
Support for Linux on ARM64 [Effective with 10.1.1-H5 and later] Support has been added for Linux on ARM64 systems. See Supported Systems for details.
Configuration File Installed in /etc [Effective with 10.1.1-H5 and later] During installation the primary SysInfo configuration file will be installed into /etc/mcsysinfo/mcsysinfo.cfg and a copy will be placed in config/mcsysinfo.cfg under the install directory. The /etc file is required when SysInfo is installed setuid to root in order to prevent the ability for a local user to gain root access.
Added support for Amazon Linux 2 This release introduces support for Amazon Linux 2 on x64.
Added support for MacOS 11 (Big Sur) This release introduces support for MacOS 11 (aka Big Sur).
Added support for ARM64 (Apple Silicon) based Mac Systems Mac systems based on ARM64 (Apple Silicon) processors are now supported.
Remove Support for Linux 32-bit x86 Support for 32-bit x86 Linux has been removed in this release.
Remove Support for Solaris 2.6 and 32-bit sparc Support for 32-bit sparc has been removed in this release. Solaris 7 64-bit and later are now the minimum version supported for sparc systems.
Deprecated nafiler driver The NetApp driver (nafiler) has been removed in this release.
Deprecated GUI The SysInfo graphical user interface (GUI) has been removed in this release as its death was a mercy.
